Beware of MCI, they'll cheat you

I was a customer of MCI, for several years.
On Nov., ; 28th, I called MCI to inform them that I was moving out of State and requested that my long distance service with them be cancelled on Dec.' 22nd.in fact the disconnected the service on Dec.' 25th.

I continued to make long distance / International calls, as I always did, before the disconnection. My Rate was 7 cents a minute to Europe.

I then received "my final bill" charging me the full, non discounted rate, for the calls. (35.5 cents a minute) I called MCI and spoke to someone in the Phillipines. After over an hour on the 'phone, after the woman asked me gruelling questions, after having to read out all the calls, #s, dates and time, she said she would "pass the information on" to the " right" department. She said MCI had made an error, not to worry!

2 weeks later I received a postcard from MCI stating that while they considered me to be a vaild customer, the charges were legitimate. (35c per minute vs 7c per minute)

I called MCI again, this time I spent well over an hour with another rep.; in the Philippines. After many, many questions from her and again having to read out all the calls, she said she would pass the information on. She apologised and stated the bill should be pro rated to my 7c per minute rate.

A week later another postcard from MCI arrived, stating the full charges were legitimate, I would have to pay it.
This whole situation has become a nightmare.

MCI should be ashamed of conducting business, they are ripping people off. I had never been informed that the minute rate would increase from 7c to over 35 c per minute, JUST BECAUSE I requested cancellation of their service. It doesn't make sense that just because I cancelled service, I should be penalized. They are a toatally fraudulent company. DO NOT USE MCI.

They even have the nerve to send me another bill, with a late payment charge, despite the bill being "under investigation"!

I have faxed a letter to them, I have posted a letter to them in this regards.

Ironically I even had a credit on my account, prior to them cheating me by increasing my rate, without notifying me.

mci is a fraudulent, cheating co., ' beware of mci.
Now my next step is to have my Lawyer deal with this. I would rather pay my lawyer a fee, than pay for a bill that is not correct and is essentailly a rip off. But why should consumers have to go through all this.
Shame on MCI. If MCI is treating and cheating one person, then I'm sure there must be very others that are be cheated.

But you won't chaet me, MCI.
