PICK UP & DELIVERY DATES: contractually agreed to occur between Aug 29-Aug 31. Pick up did not occur until Sept. 1.
DELIVERY DATE: Oct. 16, six weeks later, final delivery. More than 23 business days after pickup. Contractual agreement, 1-14 business days from pickup.
FRAUD: 1. Pristine Van Lines Website indicated that company was member of respected American Moving and Storage Association (AMSA). However, when I registered a complaint, I received a letter from the professional association informing me that Prisitine Van Lines membership was revoked.
2. Amounts of money due in cash was only expresssed verbally to me, the customer/payee. Driver did not deliver the bill enumerating the expenses, including extra expenses charged. However, driver would not offload or load belongings until cash was forthcoming. A bill was never received. The only invoice received was the initial emailed "service estimate" quote.
3. Lack of disclosure. It was never disclosed that my belongings would be loaded in Florida, then offloaded in Atlanta, then reloaded at the company's convenience (supposedly within the contractual 14 day window), and offloaded once again at the destination in NH. Nor was it disclosed that the original movers would not deliver the second and then the final move.
UNACCOUNTED EXTRA EXPENSES: $611 for additional containers. The unaccounted for containers were already loaded on truck when the bill was given to me. I unpacked only two boxes that were not mine. Wrapping with blankets and pads was to be free of charge.
EXCESSIVE ACTIVITIES: Two undisclosed loadings and two off-loadings cause undue breakage.in addition, extremely rough handling on the unloading of the boxes during the off-loading of the first truck of belongings caused more breakage. The second load of furniture was left outside on a porch only covered with the roof. From the appearance of the disarray of the furniture, boxes etc, the movers must have "thrown the belongings over the railings" during a rainy day leaving it all on the porch with a plastic covering loosely thrown over it. I was never given the 24 hour advance call of the off-loading. I found the belongings quite by chance when I arrived home after work in the
dark.
CONTACTUAL OMISSIONS: Furniture was not assembled as per contract and parts required in assemblage were missing. A neighbor's expensive vacuum was taken by mistake, was damaged by Pristine and was never redelivered as agreed. At a cost of $91.74 I mailed the damaged vacuum back to the owner 48 days after the initial taking.
NO COMMUNICATION: No names of owners or managers were released; the salesperson and dispatcher would not release their last name. Noone in authority was in contact with me during the entire 46 days that my furnishings were to have been in transit. The one and only exception occurred on the 41st day when I received a phone call from Ellie, (ellie@pristinevanlines.com) who appeared to have some authority.
STRESS AND ANXIETY: Although this occurred over one year ago, I still feel the anxiety and stress of the deceptive experience on my body and mind. I feel it essential to warn others of the outrageous and deceiptful practices of Pristine Van Lines Moving Company, Dania Beach, FL.
