Global Van Lines Moving
Unethical Business Practice, lying, and cheating

Shops, Products, Services

I hired Global Van Lines Moving Inc. To move all my furniture and boxes from Framingham, MA to Yuma, AZ. They assured me that they will have my furniture and boxes delivered to Yuma between 7 to 14 days. Global Van Lines came to Framingham, MA to pick up my furniture and boxes on 9/5/08. They arrived in Yuma, AZ on 9/30/08. It took them a total of 25 days to deliver my belongings. What Sophia told me on the phone was misleading. Global Van Line also gave me an estimate of $2,168.01 over the phone and via e-mail. After they came and loaded my belongings in to their truck, they told me I owed them $2,649. I gave them a very precise list of what I had and nothing had changed, so I did not understand why the price went up that much. The mover explained to me that all moving companies will always give a lower estimate just to get the customer's business. To me that sounds like dishonest business practice. They charged me an additional $481, and all the money I had to pay for staying in a hotel for all those days I thought they were going to show up with my belongings.

All that had happened and I was still trying to stay positive and happy because my belongings finally arrived. After they unloaded all my stuff, I found that my LCD TV, TV stand, end table, and bed frame were missing. My washer, dryer, coffee table, end table, box spring mattress, and leather chair were damaged. Oh my God, I still tried to maintain my calmness. I called Global Van lines to report the issues I had and Megan gave me the phone number to the insurance company. I filed the claim immediately on 9/30/08 and Jennifer Swedo the adjuster has called and sent numerous letters to the owner of Global Van Lines, but he has refused to respond to Jennifer and my claim has been put on hold for over 30 days.
