H & R Block
Don't believe what they promise you!

I filed my taxes online with H&R Block and was told that I could go into one of their offices and receive a refund check. When I was about to go to the office, I called in and was told that it was too late, that the money had already been routed through the office in Kentucky and I would have to wait eight days. I was told that I would have to pay $109 dollars to file my taxes and $29.99 for electronic filing. I was told that the refund would be credited to my bank account. After eight days had passed, I discovered that my account had not been credited. I called H&R Block to ask why I had not been credited, and I was told that I would have to contact the IRS, that H&R Block could not be held responsible for the refund. I informed the representative that I had paid extra funds for filing to get an early refund and could have filed without help from H&R Block without paying to get the same result. I asked to speak to a supervisor; the representative hung up on me.

I checked on the IRS web site; I saw that my refund would not arrive for another two weeks! I checked on my state refund; I discovered that I had not even been entered into the system. I really have to ask what sort of filing system H&R Block is running if this sort of thing could happen. I also have to wonder how H&R Block could make promises of an early refund so often to get money from me and then leave me to get my refund whenever someone in the IRS feels like sending it to me and if the state decides to recognize me at all. It's all a big mess and one that really isn't justifiable if, indeed, "I got people."
