Dry Cleaning Rip Offs

I took a very expensive comforter set to be dry cleaned by this company. When I picked it up the bill was $148.00. I would never have been upset by this bill that is until I got the set home and opened it up. The sides of the comforter was all balled up with the stuffing inside the comforter. Not to mention the satin finish had what looked to be scortch marks on it. I was so upset I took it back the next morning I was told they would refund my money and replace the comforter. All I had to do was go and get a new one and bring the receipt to them.

However when the owner saw the comforter after I was asked to leave it there for him to see he told me it was no fault of theres it was the manufaturers fault for not making the comforter right. He then tried to tell me that the scortch marks was just dirt. My comment to him was I see I brought it here to be cleaned and you gave it back dirty. He said this sometimes happens. A woman who also works there then asked me if I brought it there dirty. I was like what of course I did you don't bring clean things to be dry cleaned. I was refunded $45.00 for this. So I guess in the end I am screwed. I only had this set for 6 weeks and this was the first time I had it cleaned. I hope this does not happen to anyone else. I paid $286.00 for this set and it is ruined.

I did not sign anything at this cleaners before they did the work. I have called other cleaners and they have all said they have there customers sign a waver if they feel the item may be ruined by dry cleaning if I had been asked to sign something I would never have had it dry cleaned I would have called the store I got it from and asked them how I should clean it. Just please be ware of where you take your things to be cleaned this place was recommanded to me so just be careful.
