Betton Moving Company Over promise and Under delive

This company gave a quote of 5 hours to move, boxes and 2 rooms of furniture from one house to another only 17 miles apart. They broke items but tried to hide it. They didn't tie our tool chest down so the top box flew across the truck when they turned the corner. This damaged the box and has to be replaced. Our furniture was nicked and scratched.

The workers stood around, there was one experienced worker and 2 who had never moved a box before. It took 10 and 1/2 hours to move the little bit we had. They were 1 1/2 hours late and it only got worse from there. They didn't have to pack anything, only put it on the truck an transport it to the other residence.

Our total cost was $890 not counting the cost of us having to rent another truck the next day to finish what they didn't finish. We filed a complaint with the owner of the company who is still trying to scrape together $250.00 to replace our tool chest. He has promised to send it several times and the 2 dates he has said it would be here have come and gone. We'll see if the next promised date pans out. They are licensed, bonded and insured so I don't understand what the problem is.

Word of advise, use word of mouth references from friends and family if you ever need to move.
