My wife gets three prescriptions through PharmaCare Direct (as of January 1st, they'll be known as Caremark). We've used them for approximately three months. We've never had a problem until now.

We had a $30 credit on our account. We ordered some medicine that costs $45. We accompanied the order with a check for $15 and requested to use our credit.

They did use our credit, however they contacted us with a bill for $10. They stated that our original check was for $5. We waited approximately one week until the check cleared the bank and... Sure enough, it was a $15 check. We had $15 withdrawn from our account. It had to go somewhere.

We contacted Pharmacare Direct on November 15, November 16, November 26, and December 13. Every time we did, they stated that it was their mistake, they were going to fix it, it would take 24-48 hours, and not to worry. We recently got another bill for $10. We contacted them December 14, and they are now saying that regardless of what was said earlier, we have to go to our bank, get a copy of the check (front and back), and mail it to their billing department. Shouldn't they have records of what was deposited to their account? Shouldn't they be committed to providing the highest levels of service to their customers, as their documentation states? I called and talked to one of their customer service managers and was treated like I had no idea what I was talking about. I told her about what I had been previously told that they'd take care of it, and I shouldn't worry about it. She acted as though that meant nothing. I asked them what they'd do if I didn't send that copy of the check, and she said that I'd still owe $10 and they'd try to get it from me. I ALREADY PAID!!! It'll end up in court if they try that.
