Unfair Return Policy Horrible Service

Target Stores claim of "fast, fun, and friendly service" to a "guest" is an absolute joke. My wife and I purchased an infant swing for our 4 month old baby girl from Target in the month of October. Since the swing made a horrible loud, clicking noise and my daughter cried every time she sat in the swing, she attempted to return the item on November 23 to the TARGET #2085 IN Destin, FL.

My wife and infant daughter drove to the store with the disassembled swing in perfect condition. This particular time, we paid around $80 cash for the swing and misplaced the sales receipt. All my wife wanted to do was return the defective swing and pick out another infant toy item that my daughter would enjoy better.

Imagine my complete and utter shock when Target stores absolutely refused to help in any possible way becuse the receipt was misplaced. The store manager, Casey, tried her hardest to help, but that was all. Everyone else in Target's entire "guest relations" department and "guest relations" phone number seemed to not care or offer to help in order to satisfy us, long time Target customers who also shopped online also, used Target for our wedding and baby registry, and regularly used our Target Visa for everyday purchases.

According to Target, no exceptions could be made to the return policy. Period. The end. No attempt to make the "guest" whole and satisfied. All we were asking for is a simply item exchange from the same darn department. We did not expect or want a cash refund or gift card even.

As a result of this complete disregard for "guest" satisafaction, my wife and I will never set foot in another Target store to make purchases again. We have already cancelled the Target Visa card and will never order any items from the website. I will share my experience with others in my area and I have many contacts because of my career choice.

It used to be that Target prided themselves on having superb service in comparision to Wal Mart and other competitors. Now I realize that was just a plow to get idiots like myself to spend money in stores. I will shop at other places like Wal Mart in the future. At least I know I will get low prices and don't expect great service like I used to at Target.
