Worst shipping company. Terrible customer service, totally dysfunctional, incompetent

I learned not to use UPS a long time ago. Recently bought an item on ebay and got a reminder of why. For some reason the seller required a signature for a $50 item. UPS made their first delivery attempt on Monday at 12:45. I was at work, of course. I called the 800 number and requested a delivery AFTER 5:00 on wednesday.

Wednesday, UPS didn't come after five. I called the 800 number again on Thursday at 8:00 am; the automated system told me that the *third* delivery attempt had been made on Wednesday AT 12: F*&%ING 45 again. It said my package was being held at the "customer service" center. The center is open from 9-5. What the f*, UPS? You deliver to residences in the middle of the day when people are at work, then, when people aren't there to sign, you hold their packages at a location only open during normal work hours? What are you thinking?

Anyway, I happen to start work at 9:30, so I go to the pickup place at 9:00 on Thursday. There's a line, so I wait 20 minutes to be helped. Two customers in front of me have problems too, which contributes to the wait. (Meanwhile, the "ship here" line has no wait at all - I wonder why.) I finally get to the front of the line. The employee takes 10 minutes - literally, 10 - looking for my package in the back. Then she comes out with, surprise, no package. She says it's "scheduled for future delivery" and still on the truck. Awesome! Fu&*#ng great job UPS! What system was she looking at that told her that? Obviously it's not the system that customers can access to track their packages, because THAT system said my package was there. Now I'm late for work, no package, got to do the whole damn thing again tomorrow.

They'll do this shit to you too, people. Fight back! Use their competitors! The market shouldn't allow this kind of customer service! Fedex is better, USPS is even better, and DHL kicks all of their asses!
