Bogus, scam, ripoff, thiefs

On 5-31-07 I received a phone call from a "Mary" stating she was with Verizon (which is my phone company) she stated that Verizon had lost their billing vendor and that she needed to verify all of my business phone numbers to keep my billing and that this had to be done immediately.

At the time of this phone call I was swamped with work and customers. So I let my manager verify the phone numbers. As soon as I hung up I realized something wasn't right so I called Verizon only to be told this wasn't correct. So I had a freeze put on my phone so only I could make changes to my phone bill. Some how USBI was still able to get charges for long distance on my bill. I have contacted Verizon and they are having the 2 months worth of charges reversed and credited to my phone bill.

If I had not been swamped at the time I would have questioned "Mary" more and not been scamed at that time. At least I realized it shortly there after and was able to do something about it. I know Verizon still let the charges get thru after I had the freeze put on the account, but I take notes about everything and have the order number I was given at that time I had the freeze was put on the account and will hold them accountable for this.

I even wrote down how I was scammed as soon as I realized it had happened. I have learned many lessons about being scammed from another company that scams people (NBIE, aka Nationl Business Information Exchange also known as Your Company Listing) I am very weary of people who call me wanting to do business.

As for USBI is concerened someday they will get what is coming to them. I don't see how these people working for this company can feel good, but I guess a paycheck is better than no paycheck.

The more people that complain the more people become informed.
