I recently decided to try and find a local single's Internet to meet single's in my area. I saw a sign around the streets where I work for NorthCantonSingles.com. I decided to try the site and see what would happen.

When I got on the site it asked for information and then said I would be called by one of their people. On Saturday, July 7 I was contacted by a person from Great Expectations. I had already joined this agency in 2001 for around $3000, and had placed myself on "hold" status because I was not getting active results. I was told that my membership would not expire until 2009 and that a membership person would call me.

I received a call from a membership person which told me I needed to update my pictures in order to continue to use the service. Originally they told me this would cost me $1250 to do so, but after a tirade from me, they talked to their manager and got the price down to $705. This would provide me Internet access at home and also allow new pictures to be taken.

I kept reminding them that I am already a member but they were going to charge me $705 to remain one. They told me they would also throw in an extra year as a member but I would need to sign a non-disclosure agreement so their other members would not know. When I asked what would happen if I did not update my pictures, they told me I could not use the service.

I am ashamed to admit this, but out of frustration and wanting to find someone, I agreed to the $705. Also, because I remembered the $3000 I had already spent and wanted something to show for it.

They first scheduled my pictures to be taken on July 10. Then I received another call saying they could not be scheduled until July 17.

When July 17 came around, I decided I was not going to throw away $705. So, I called them to cancel my picture appointment and to ask them to credit my credit card for the $705. They told me that my credit card receipt says that I only have 3 days to change my mind. I told them that I did not have a credit card receipt because the transaction occurred over the phone, nor was I told such information over the phone. I was informed by Tracy that they would not return my money and to read my contract from 2001.

This company is nothing but a scam. They do not care about their clients in any shape or form. It is all about the money. They also do not care about the integrity of the company name.

If I could file a suit against them and be successful, I would. I have asked my credit card company to dispute the charge, but I'm guessing that because this company has done their homework so well on how to scam, that I will never see this money.

Please, please, please do not associate yourself with this company. I have learned my lesson the hard way. I am a very intelligent person, but was easily swayed because they take advantage of a person's vulnerability.
