Ripoff business from hell

I was transferred from New York to Los Angeles for a job, and was looking for a mover that could move me out fast, and safe.

The apparaiser came out and he was as nice as could be. He told me he had 30 years in the business, and White Glove was the best.

He said I had $1200 worth of things and wrote that down as the estimate on my moving sheet. When the movers came they said I wasn't close to $1200, that it was $1600.

My lease on the apartment was ending in 2 days so I really had no choice (couldn't find another movers). They proceeded to charge me exhobitant rates on things that they said I needed boxed ($60 on boxing my matress, $30 to box my TV, etc).

After I got to LA and gave them my address, they gave me a date that my furniture was to be out here. So I moved a few things into my new apartment.

Low and behold I call them the day my things were supposed to show up and they said their truck broke down in West Virginia and my things were going to be 2 weeks late.
So I had to sleep on the floor for 2 weeks. It turned out to be another week after that as they were even later.

The moving coordinator said he could give me $200 off because of the delay. When the movers started unloading my stuff, they said they didn't know anything about that.

They called the HQ, and at first they said the coordinator was gone, and no discount. After we argued for 1 hour, and I threatened to have them take my stuff, and try to sue me, they agreed on $150 off.

Overall a nightmare, and a template to the typical moving scam. DON'T USE WHITE GLOVE MOVERS!
