Mark Meisner, TDF Construction signed a contract to build a building, got me a permit and took off with my downpayment Ripoff

I singed a contract with Robin Hackensmith to build an addition on to my existing garage. When I signed the contract I gave him the 50% down that he wanted to get materials. Months came and went and I was always getting excuses why he couldn't start my project. Then he told me his partner/cousin wanted out of the business and had froze all the accounts and moneys. I was finally able to get back in touch with Robin and he had more excuses. I contacted an attorney but they didn't think they would be able to get anything out of him and the best advise was to see what if anything I could get out of Robin. I managed to get the building permit and a set of drawings. I was also able to get a set of materials sent to me via email. More months went by and I finally gave up trying to reach him. He took off with half of the money I was to use to build the building and I was left with nothing but the drawings and the permit.
