Unauthorized Monthly Credit Card Charges ripoff

AP9 Home Essentials billed my credit card for 18.95 and 1.00 for two months on my VISA without my knowledge or permission. When I called the 888 number at night, it said the office was closed. When I called during the day, it said "all the circuits are busy."

I immediately called the credit card company who was able to connect me to the company. They said it was some type of internet membership for shopping discounts and rebates that was a 7 day free trial on a pop-up ad. I do not believe in membership shopping and do not use any such services, nor would I sign up for anything like that.

I spoke to Jessica and told her the story. She said, " I understand, " and agreed to reverse the charges, saying it would be processed within 2 days and appear within 2 months on my billing statement. I also received a confimation number for my "cancellation."

Still clueless as to where they got my credit card number. I suggest NEVER allow anyone to sign you up for trial memberships that require you to call and cancel... Although in this case I am certain I did not sign up for anything.
