A telemarketer called and said that I was chosen or recommended by someone for this new dating service trial offer. I thought, "What the heck, it couldn't do any harm, " so I made an appointment and went to their office. When I called to cancel the appointment, the lady told me not to because it would only take a few minutes to give me her pitch.

When I arrived at the office, the receptionist made me wait for about 15 minutes. Then, the lady who took me into her office said her pitch would be about 45 minutes. She showed me some pictures of men, but I felt uneasy.

The pictures seemed old and out of date and I wasn't sure if it was right for me. They went to great lengths to make me feel like I desperately needed someone. She probed about my financial situation and my past relationships.

When she asked about my past, I told her I had just gotten a divorce that really hurt. She said that that person wasn't right for me and that I can find someone new who is. She said that I would be "investing" in my future for a relationship.

She made me sign a paper stating that it was a document for my photographs to be taken. I hadn't even verbally agreed yet to anything, and she was already shoving a paper in my face.

Next, she said that $100 was the lowest she could go for my monthly payments. I was thinking "$100 a month for a dating service is ridiculous". She said the paper I just signed was my contract and now she needed to swipe my card. I was thinking, "What the heck just happened?".

She swipped my debit card and told me to expect payments every month for the next year and a half, because of interrest. I called three days later. I signed the paper on a Thursday and called on a Monday. The office was closed over the weekend. She said that because it was supposed to cancel in three days, not three working days, that I was obligated and bound to my contract.

I told her I never planned on using the service, nor did I want to meet anyone with this service. She tried to explain that it didn't really matter because I had signed the contract and was obligated to pay it.

After telling her what I thought of her service, she told me that they were not going to charge me anymore than the initial $100, and that I was able to have a trial period for six months where I could walk into the office and use thier services for the $100 I had already paid.

Well, next month comes around, and on my bank statement another $100 is deducted from my account. I didn't think much of it, next month, the same thing. I called the billing agency at that time and she told me my contract was full and I was entitled to pay for this service.

I am writing this report because Great Expectations is a Great Letdown. Not only is the fee outrageous for a dating service, but the people who work there don't care about you, they just want your money. I am going to cancel and reorder my debit card. I don't care if my account goes to collections. I would rather increase my credit by buying something I want and am going to use than pay these loosers. I work hard for what I earn and I or noone else needs to get scammed by these jerks.
