Husband arrested even though he had RECEIPT! Abused & mistreated

My Grandmother bought us four DVD'd as gifts for our anniversary when she asked me if i liked these DVD's I told her no, and that our DVD is broken anyway.

She decided to take them back and let me pick out something else. She could not find the receipt. The manager gave her a "gift card".

My husband and i thought about getting a foton (spelling) on sale for company to use. So, I gave him the card, as I went looking for a nice rose bush for our front yard.

After awhile I couldnt find him and had him paged. After awhile I told the lady and the front desk he is diabetic, and i am worried.

She paged him again stating his wife is at front counter. A plain clothed man said 'there is his wife' It caught my attention, someone asked me if I was his wife i said "yes, is he ok? He's diabetic" they told me he was in custody.

There was a police officer nearby who then approached me and asked where I was parked I told him in garden. To make a long story longer... I found out after getting my husband out of jail, that he brought in the tag from the box display outside, a cashier rang it up.

He went back in to look for me so i could help him load it. While he was looking for me (at the time I was in garden I suppose) he saw two blue glasses (i love blue glass) he bought those and then proceeded outside, he loaded the foton by himself and went to look for where I was parked, as he left the sidewalk he was jumped by a bunch of men, they told him he was under citizen arrest for stealing the foton. He explained that he paid for it and showed them the receit. They took the receit, the foton and the glasses.

Now, i went in the next day asking for this receit back (figured it was our only defence) they said they didnt have it. Went to police and the officer in charge is off duty for the next few days!

The only thing i have is a copy of the transaction history, showing he bought something for about $100 and 8 mins later bought something for $5-6. He is being charged with three accounts of THEFT!

WHAT IS GOING ON HERE@! He has a clean record! All the day of his life he has never been a theif!
