CRC Of Montana
They totally rip-me off while making their offer, and con you saying that you signed a contract with them verbally, whithout saying that to you

I can't remember when this all started (2-3 years ago), but I remember it was at the month of February. I am living with my parents and one night I received a strange phone call. It was a magazine company buy the name of CRC of Montana. They talked to me about their great company, and all this stuff about how great they are and wanted to see if I was interested by them. Then they decided to start making me an offer. And kinda like what they were offering. So I listened.

They talked really fast, so I couldn't take a moment to understand what they were saying but I decided to say yes. Thery told me that the certain amount that I have to pay was like $900.00, each month I only had to pay $32.00. I told them that I don't owe a credit card, that all of my payments are done by money order. I told them that if they send me the bill, I will send the payment by money order. And they agreed. But they still wanted a card number.

And I made the biggest mistake, I told them that I have a bank account number. And I gave it to them. They said that they will start sending me the magazines.

A week later, I receive a phone call from them because they wanted to see if I understood their offer, and if I had time for a quick survey. I said no problem. A voice recorder was going to say the questions, and I just have to answer them, and that my voice was going to be recorded. So I answer the questions. I could barely hear the questions, but me being stupid, and answered them anyways, so I didn't have to deal with them later. After that I bever heard from them again.

On April of the same year, while working I went to the ATM to get some cash, but I couldn't get any money out. I checked my balance, and it said that I didn't have any money in it, and then I checked at my saving account (since they have the same account number), and I barely had any money in it. I totally freaked out. I didn't know why this was happening. So I went to my bank and talked to them about what was going on.

The representative that was helping said that money had been pulled out to pay for something. But it didn't said what. He then asked me if I was a member of any type of club or company. I said no, and then I remember those two phone calls about the magazine company, and I told him about it. He said that since I gave them my bank account number, they were retriving money from it for the magazines. I told him that that was not the agreement that we made. He suggested to cancel this account and open a new one. And I did.

Two weeks later the agency called me because there was no payment made. And I told them what happen. I said that they violated the agreement that was made and that I wanted to cancel the subscription, and that's were everything turned from bad to worse.

I got told that I couldn't cancel the subscription. I ask why. I was told that I signed a contract. I was did not understand this. They said that when I answer the questions, I gave authorization and signed the contract verbally. I told them that all I did was answer questions for a survey and that nobody told me that, and that I felt I got ripped off.

The person very calmly said that they could lower the payments so it was easier for me to pay. I told them that I didn't want any more magazines, but the person insisted so I said yes, lower the payments. This kept going on for a while, and also the phone calls. I started to get angry and frustrated by them.

Customer service kept calling to check upon me, and see if I wanted other offers, or to change my offer and make it better. I told them that I did not wanted to deal with them any more, and I did not wanted any more magazines, and that even IF I wanted the magazines I was not even getting the ones that I asked for.

I even one day ask to speak with a manager, but this person was totally rude and would not listen. So I decided not to pay any more. I felt bad, frustrated and used. It was a horrible feeling. I have never thought that something like this would happen to me.

Soon the phone calls kept coming more frequent. And even whern I came to Florida for schooling, my parents kept telling them that I wasn't there any more. But they didn't care, and kept sending the magazines. My mother just throw them to the trash. What a waste. Later this year I found out that they send me to a collector's company. I haven't heard from them by phone but they have send letters saying that I have miss the payments. One of the last letters that I received was telling me that I had to pay the full balance amount which is more than $600.00. This is totally crazy.

Yesterday I was at the mall, and I received an random phone call. It was actually CRC of Montana (customeer service), and they wanted to know how did I felt about the company, and if I could put a good word for them. I just don't understand these people. I told this person (which I know it has nothing to do with the problem, but I am just extremely tire of them) that I don't want anything to do with them. Please stop calling me. He gave me a phone number, and hang up.

When I returned from the mall, I tried again to search for CRC of Montana, because I just find really weird, that a company like this one would not have a email address or a website. As soon as I did, the first thing that I see was this:

Report: CRC Magazines, The Publishers, The Readers - CRC Magazines, The Publishers, The Readers ripoff, daily calls to update billing info and extend subscriptions from 7 differant states claiming to be Avenel New Jersey

I read the story there and was really impress to see that I am not the only one with this problem. So now here I am writing my story to see if anything can be done, to shut down this people so nobody else have to go through what I have been through. Is sad to see how can people take advantage of others like this by making an offer really quickly, making sure you say yes at the moment, and make your life a living HELL. I hope that something can be done soon. This has gone to far...
