$39 ordering and disconnect fee. $38 Voice mail I never had & $80 ripoff Nationwide

When I first ordered Vonage I didn't understand what they were. I thought they were like other phone companies. Then my computer tech told me I wouldn't need Vonage. Talked to a rep. On the phone, she said they'd cancel my account upon receiving the box back. It was received April 9th. It was never opened before it left my hands, and shipment was refused by me sending it back.

Then after taking money from my acct. Recently (they said was for voicemail) they tell me my acct. Is still active. The global manager Mike, who wouldn't give me a call back number, or a last name said he would only charge me half of the $80, if I'd cancel Verizon and install Vonage for my Internet server.

Since he wouldn't give me a phone number to call him back, as I felt I needed to catch my breath, he imformed me he was going to a bar-b-que and would contact me afterwards.

I told him later when he called back that "I didn't like his threat". He said he wasn't threatening me, but what would you call it? They say my account is still active. That doesn't make sence. I've had Verizon on my phone and computer since Day 1. Plus, I did have a coupon from the postoffice mailer for new residence for 2 free months. What was free? It all adds up to approximately $149.00, and Verizon has been with me since day 1. Wouldn't you think refusing their package, sending it back meant I didn't want it?
