Did not pay! Ripoff

I was asked to do some environmental sampling, so i drove 60 miles to there buisness and then to the house where we were to do the sampling at, and i did the job then i went to get paid and they said i had to get workmans comp insurance to get my check, so they refused to pay after the work has been done, i called a couple of laywers and they told me it was a crock im work alone and in the state of NH i do not need workmans comp just genaral liability, so beware!
