False charging! Ripoff

We signed up for dish network and rented the dvr/receiver. After a couple of months or so, we were having trouble getting reception. I called dish and after searching through the menue, the customer rep decided it was the receiver that was bad. He said it would have to be repaired and i would have to pay 50. Oo dollars. I told him it was a rental and he said it didn't matter. So i told him to cancel everything and come and pick up the equipment, as they had someone bring it to my home. They sent an empty box by ups which left it in the rain. So i called dish and he said i would have to pay the shipping. I refused as it is their equipment! They are now charging me almost 300 dollars and it went to collections! What a scam!!
