Ripoff Sent me to NATIONWIDE COLLECTIONS for merchandises I never ordered received Wrong Address

I received the following notice:

Debt of $53.10 originally owed to Columbia House accnt #...

We are a debt collection agency. We now own the above debt originally owed by you to Columbia House. Unless we receive payment, we are ready to consider the issue of legal proceedings in the county court. A court judgment could...

It was forwarded to me in FRANCE (I will remain there for a while), I freaked out and called the agency, told them I never ordered any merchandises from Columbia House EVER.

I learned that the account had been closed in Oct for non-payment and to my surprise, it was for DVD's sent to a FRIEND's address.

I was able to reach C H (1 812 4668636), Rep told me that they would notify N C inc to remove my name from its files and got the following E mail:

The account #... Has been cleared of charges and the
Collection Agency is being notified to remove the
name from its files. Until the necessary changes
are made, requests for payment may continue. Please
disregard them.
If we may be of further service, please let us know.

NEED YOUR ADVICE:
Should I still dispute debt with Nationwide Collections and ask for verification?
Is Columbia House's E-Mail valid?
Should I FAX it to Nationwide Collections or just forget the all thing?
