Shady Dealings ripoff

We used to be good customers of Goutam at Millenium Jewelers in Easton Town Center, but soon realized that this is not the type of company that you want to do business with. We had a shady experience, and when the store abruptly moved to the Short North Art District and the business's name was changed to Alexander's Fine Jewelry and Watches, we knew someting was fishy.in addition to letting us down a number of times when we came in to buy jewelry, we hear that Goutam did not leave the Easton community on good terms.

The owner knowingly misrepresented items for sale in his case to make us believe that we were buying name-brand jewelry when we were not. It was not until we contacted the manufacturer directly at a later date did we verify the truth, and it was shocking because Goutam had mentioned the brand name a number of times when selling the items to us. My husband and I came across this site and read eerily familiar stories about the way Goutam does business, and are shocked by the simliarity, so that is why we decided to write a review, becasue we do not want the same situation to happen to anyone else.

In addtion to the misrepresentation of generic jewelry, we also struggled to receive the correct wedding band (after we had already paid in full). This jeweler had a hard time ordering in the correct merchandise (style & size), which resulted in us not receing the band until one month AFTER our wedding (we originally ordered it 2 months before the wedding). Even though the correct merchandise finally made it into the store, we went to pick it up and the special-order ring was sitting (apparently for sale) in one of their retail display cases!!! We were truly shocked, to say the least.

All in all, Goutam was not at all apologetic, and we were offended by his non-chalance in dealing with his errors. We used to give him lots of business, and we gave him many chances to "make things right", but his lack of concern for getting it right will lead us to another more honest and dependable jeweler in the future. Once he had his money, he stopped caring about us as customers, and that is not the way that upstanding jewelers run a business, so we will NEVER buy another item from Goutam, "Millenium Jewelers", or "Alexander's Fine Jewelry and Watches". Caveat emptor!!! Buyer beware!
