Ripoff dishonest and disgusting service

We are new in the the State of Michigan and live in Highland. We decided to use the dry cleaning services of this facility because it is almost around the corner.
On Oct 17 we went to pick up the clothes we dropped at this facility for dry cleaning. When we took the clothes we noticed how stiff were the whole stack consisting of two jackets, one pants, a silk shirt and two coats. The coats belong to my wife. I thought they have placed a liner inside the coats and did not give a second thought until we arrived home several hours later after we did some errands.

The coats were hard. One of the-a black one - was stiff but it seems it was wearable. The second one-a brown one - was so hard that you can stand it up and it feels like card board. The next day I took the brown coat back to find out what happened to it. The so called manager told me that she noticed it when she finished with it but did not tell me when I went to pick the clothes up. (Deceptive and dishonest here).

She told me that she followed the cleaning instructions and that it must have been something that was added to the coat before. I told her that coat was clenaed several times by dry cleaners in Mexico City and it was in perfect condition and soft. She proceeded to tell me that she was going to send it to a leather place to find out if they could help. Several times I went back to pick up the coat and see what she was going to do and found out she worked mornings only.

On Monday 13th November I went back and asked her about the coat. She handed it over to me and said she could do nothing about it. I told her that since we lost the coat the least she could do was refund the cost. She told me that she did what she was supposed to do and therefore there was no refund. I told her that it was not fair to bring the clothes there for service and to pay her for damaging the coats. She refused strongly and I told her that it was disgusting and raised my voice with anger. She asked me to leave and I did but on the way out I told her that the damn place should be closed.
How can people get away with this kind of service?
The previous saturday afternoon we went there to check on the coat and have to listen to this lady complaining about her black dress been scorched in several places. She told us that she was picking it up because there was a wedding she was going to and the dress was damaged. The employee told her to file a complaint with the manager. So, since the manager was not there we left because we did not want to waste the time with the employee.

What a place?

After we left I told my wife to forget about her coat.
This is not an expensive coat. We bought another one to replace the damaged one. What bother us is the arrogancy of the service and that they offer no satisfaction whatsoever to us. We ended up with two damaged coats and on top of that we paid for it!!!
