Advertised to provide backround check - when checking on my own record, they came up with nothing. Will not give me a refund

Intelius adveritses that anyone can obtain a credit/criminal backround check on ANYBODY. This peaked my interest due to privacy acts and our violation of civil rights in general. I am well aware of what is noted on my state and federal backround, so i had them run a criminal/credit check on myself.intelius came up with nothing... And then charged me $54 dollars. When i called them to request a refund, they said they did not provide guarantees and have a "no refund" policy. I told them I would contact the attorney general and I also contacted my visa provider. Visa said that because they have a "no refund" policy, they may or may not accept my dispute. I have since checked several different sites concerning this company and it appears that they are nothing less than fraudulant. Although the attorney general does not really deal with these matters, i have had success when contacting them concerning these types of disputes. They will write a warning letter and stay in contact with both the company and the person making the complaint. I am hopful that Visa will accept my dispute and stop payment to this company.in the meanwhile. I hope that this letter will help to save others from being "ripped-off".
