Broken Promises, Dishonest, Fraudulent Billing, Poor Customer Service

I called Dish Network to cancel my account. The agent wanted to know why and I told her that DirecTV had made me an offer.
She asked for the details of the offer and when I told her, she said that she could give me free movie channels for 3 months, free equipment upgrade and $ off my monthly fee to closely match Directs offer.
I agreed but when I received my monthly bill I was shocked to see charges for the equipment and a $5 continual monthly fee for upgrading the equipment.
I called customer service and they claimed there was no record of the aggreement. If this is true then it's due to poor recordkeeping on their part.
They also stated that I was locked into an 18 month commitment due to the upgrade. I told them that I was tricked before by signing the contract and not reading the fine print and this time I wrote "refused to sign" on the contract.
