Banffy Haus German Shepherds - Buyer Beware! Genetic problems, dishonest, registration problems

Our family bought a supposedly "world class" male puppy in 2003. Peter Banfe was informed that the puppy was needed for show/breeding. When we arrived to pick up the puppy he gave us a coated puppy (we were relatively new to GSD's and did not know the pup was a long coat) and insisted we take limited registration. When we asked for our money back he refused and said the dogs full registration would cost more but he would make us a "deal".

His deal was to evaluate the dog at 6 or 8 months then he would give us the full registration at NO Additional Cost! What a deal. So we were duped into taking the puppy and accepting his "deal" or losing our money.

To make a long story short, first we had trouble with his ears standing, then at his 3 month vet check we discovered he had only one tecticle. (This is an inherited condition) We contacted Peter many times and asked for assistance. He kept putting us off by telling us that the dog was fine and his other testicle would drop. (Even though he had already sent us the limited registration papers!)

Finally we asked for a refund or exchange and to return the pup when we realized we could never use him for either breeding or show. He refused, saying that we were "on our own!" (All we wanted was that he exchange the pup for one we could use.) We had saved up many months to purchase this "world class"
puppy and spent hundreds of dollars in vet fees and not to mention the emotional distress.in addition, there was a question on the dog's registration papers as the pedigree info we initially received on the dog was not correct.

So buyer beware! His "world class" dogs are not all they are cracked up to be, and he is more concerned with turning a buck than on the satisfaction of his customers! Don't let this happen to you!
