Ripoff Order not fill and Unauthorized use of credit card

Shops, Products, Services

I placed an order for MLM leads with LeadBakery on the 11 of September. My leads should have been delivered by e-mail within 7 business days. On day 7, Monday, 18 September, received a piece of software in the mail that I had not ordered. The invoice showed that my credit card had been charged. I called the software company, (Microsoft) and was given the last 4 digits of the card used. It was the same card I had used for the lead order. I contacted the card company and was told that a temporary hold had been placed on the card because of unusual activity. Since I had only used this particular card 3 times in the last year, once at the local WalMart, once with a supplement company I have used for two years and LeadBakery. I began to suspect someone at LeadBakery.

I went to the LeadBakery site to check the status of my lead order and found that it was not listed. I sent an e-mail to their customer service asking about the order and for the information of when the charge to my credit card was processed. Having dealt with this company in the past, I expected a prompt reply. None was forthcoming.

On Tuesday, I sent another e-mail to LeadBakery asking that they contact me immediately. I got no response to this message either. I Have since gathered more information about the activities of LeadBakery. The friend who recommended the company ordered leads in June and never got them and was never able to get an answer to either phone calls or e-mails.

On Wednesday, 20 September I tried to call LeadBakery on their 800 number. It rang about 15 times and when it finally answered, I was asked to enter my pin number. Obviously this line is not for non-clients althought this is the published contact number. I had gotten a non-tollfree number from the Columbus Ohio Better Business Bureau so I tried that one. When it answered I was subjected to a commercial and then told that all operators were busy and asked to wait or I could leave a message. I chose to leave a message which so far has gone unanswered. The BBB report shows that this is not unusual behavior for LeadBakery.

The credit card company told me that so far the incoming charges have reached over a thousand dollars and have come in from Germany, France, Pakistan and other European countries. Having dealt with LeadBakery about 8 months ago, and having received good service at that time, I suspect that the company has been sold to a foriegn person or company who is using it to collect credit card numbers for fraudulent use.

To date, this ripoff has not been resolved so I will be back with updates.
