ShopNBC Credit Card Scam

I have been a customer of ShopNBC for many years. I just noticed a charge on my AMEX for $84.00for enrollment in a cooking club. ShopNBC gave my credit card number to another company (Damark) for a service / product I never asked for. I also found out Shop NBC has done this repeatedly done this other people. Is this illegal? What can be done about it? Please note that ShopNBC is a subsidiary / affilaite of NBC, owned by General Electric. What would GE think about this outrageous scheme?
