Took money from my prepaid card for a free gift card

I clicked on a spam email for a free gas gift card. It took me to a company named Todays Escapes. I entered my prepaid AMEX card number on the website for the payment of a $1 shipping and handling charge. A month later, I had not received the gift card and was charged $19.99. I called their phone number and spoke with Jerome #??

He fought with me for almost an hour, then after threatening to report the company to the police, he told me my account would be credited the charge in 2-3 business days. It was credited, but I am still mad. If you were not so lucky, PLEASE post here.
