Handyman Stole My Money

Philip Marigman uses Craigs List to respond to Handyman ads. He will look for any opportunity to rip you off, and if you serve Small Claim Court papers, he will not answer his door. His neighbors say others have tried to serve papers, but he never answers his door.

Mr. Marigman is not a licensed contractor and violated the law when he asked for more than the 10% legal downpayment for materials in a contracting project. Mr. Marigman asked for complete payment for materials in the amount of $325 towards the installation work on my home recording studio. He stopped by twice to pick up two checks, the second time claiming it wasn't enough.

Mr. Marigman then played games, acting like his full time job for a company that doesn't employ him, disallowed the time to deliver the materials to perform the installation. He kept making appointments, not showing up, forcing me to call him to find out what happened. After 5 failed appointments, his final promise to deliver was a lie too, as he called me on the way to another city. I had gotten him to promise to deliver, and he clearly was playing games with me. He stated he would drop off the materials at my doorstep that evening and never did.

Research on this handyman in various set-ups I've put him through from his response to various ads, indicates he is looking for upfront cash prior to performing work or material deliveries.in one set-up, he was going to accept $1,000 to purchase Home Depot materials for a sick elderly lady. Unfortuantely, those who planned on meeting Mr. Marigman to carry through with the set-up to have him arrested, had a personal family issue and couldn't complete the goal.

Mr. Marigman plays games, is a con with a fat belly laugh, a Chinese handyman who is looking for opportunities to rip people off. Don't fall for it. Please contact me if you've been ripped off by him."
