I found The Movers to move my furniture and stuff from New Orleans to Upstate NY. On the day they did the pick up, the driver and the movers immediately demanded tips prior to the loading. I gave all four of them some tips to avoid trouble. I was promised to receive my stuff by Aug 8 from the loading date, night of Aug 5 (2 full days).

By the 5th day, nothing showed up, so I started calling the dispatch to track my shipment. The initial answer I received was I don't know where it is, all I know is that it's left. I don't know when it'll arrive the destination. I would insist on calling them at least one call every other day. The responses from the dispatch were all exactly the same every time, I will get back to you.

But they never did. Not a single time.

Finally, the movers came for the drop off on the 12th day. The driver did not call me until 1 hour before he arrived. The first thing they told me after they got to my house is that they might not have everything on that truck because the previous 2 dropoffs they had in NY were missing half of their stuff. I was scared and wanted to make sure all my stuff is on the truck before I gave them the Cashier's check for the remaining half of the charge. The driver told me that it's the company's policy to get the check before even opening the truck.

I finally gave up and they started unloading. Every single piece of my furniture including my entire bedroom set was either COMPLETELY DESTROYED OR SEVERELY DAMAGED. I noticed that most of my furniture had no wrappings around it. The ones that did had 1 single layer of piece of paper wrapped around on the sides. My desk was literally broken apart in pieces. The wood was broken and the inside screws all came out. A few pieces of furniture had deformed beyond recognition.

I told the movers about the damages. They said that they do realize it and I should write things done and go through the claim's department. I also took pictures of my damaged stuff at the same time as well. They unloaded all my 40 to 50 boxes into the garage and said that they would put them in appropriate places afterwards.

After they unloaded everything, the truck was nearly empty except a few things here and there that belong to the previous dropoffs. I found a few loose screws that came off my bed frames and desks on the truck. The 2 movers wanted to get some food to eat somewhere and promised that they would come back afterwards to assemble the bed and the dresser mirror and move the boxes out of the garage. Three hours later, they didn't come back. I called and they told me that their truck got wrecked and they couldn't come back at all.

And today, as I cleaned up and unpacked, I noticed that my watch, a pair of pearl earrings, and a white gold bracelet were missing from their cases. Everything else was still there, but I noticed that all these cases were wide open with nothing in them. The cases are not that easy to be opened. It is rather obvious that someone forced them open and took the goods.

This company is running an extremely shady business. There is almost no customer service. The movers had no training in moving at all. They seemed to be just some random people lifting things. There are no professional moving tools such as the blankets. They loaded the truck as if everything on there is a piece of junk. The cost of this moving is now a lot more than if I were to throw everything away in the first place.

This company has absolutely no regards in customers' belongings. And there are thieves in this company as well, they just stole valuables, fortunately not the extremely valuables in my case, from boxes or drawers. This is absolutely disgusting and I'm going through the claims right now waiting to see what they can do for the damages they have caused.
