Travelers - Standard Fire Insurance One year after huge tree fell on my home, they're offering 1/2 of costs to repai

May 20, a 100' oak tree fell on my home and crushed 2/3rds of the roof (flat) and cracked interior dry wall and exterior brick walls. The estimate came in at $49,000 () and to date I've received $22,000. My estimate was completed by a Class A Builder Contractor with whom I've done business in the past.

First Travelers sent an unqualified person to estimate and I caught them in their lie. Then they sent another person who completed the estimate (without flash light, or tape measure or note pad to take notes) who's operating under someone's Class A Contractor's License. This person has no license in Virginia or Maryland (he lives in Maryland).

Finally last Sept, I requested an umpire be assigned by Fairfax County Court. (This is the procedure I must follow in the policy language) The last meeting with them was April 17. On Saturday, May 20 (my one year anniversary date) I received the mailed resulta of the umpire: he ruled in favor of the Insurance appraiser.

In reviewing the Umpire's ruling, he left out 10 or so items. I had informed him I needed to hear back from him by Friday, May 19 as that was the last day I had to file a law suit with the Fairfax County Circuit Court otherwise, I would forfeit my chance to file a lawsuit (I could file no later than 1 year)

I filed a suit for $88,000 in Circuit Court on Friday, May 19th. Now I need an attorney.
