My acting teacher told me to sign up with Charles Alessi's booking and messaging service. Mr. Alessi's job is to find ideal background acting jobs by telephone for Los Angeles actors and to call them to let them know when a job was available, when and where to show up, etc. Finding background acting work is very easy but often time consuming, involving several phone calls. So, my wife and I both paid $90 to Mr. Alessi's service so that he could do the calling for us, but in a month we heard nothing. Considering all the background work available in our area, it's impossible to believe that he was unable to find any jobs at all. When we signed up with him, he told us that he would find a job for us very quickly so that we would not lose faith in him. But, nothing. No phone calls. No calls to let us know what was going on. Just $180 in his pocket for no work at all. And, that's not right. Please don't let it happen to you!
