Ripoff Breach of contract deception and misrepresentation

Shops, Products, Services

Upon entering into a contract with them for the purchse of a week of timeshare use we were told by the salesman that we owned the week "forever". When reading the fine print we realized that we owned it "for the life of the trust" which was set forth as December 31.

Our bad, for not reading the fine print before signing but we figured we were screwed and as long as we could trade the week through an exchange company, all was not lost. (this began in 1987.)

All was well until we were notified that they were no longer affiliated with RCI (the exchange co.), and that we would have to pay an additional $2,000 plus to purchase an "in perpetuity" membership to be able to trade our week. They extended the trust to December 31 without our knowing it, thereby breaching the contract we had signed. They further stated that to get out of the contract would cost us $2,700.
