Coupon Ripoff

I went into Hollywood Video to rent a few DVDs for my son and his friend. I had a coupon from Hollywood Video that was rent one movie and get one free. When I went up to pay for my rentals, I presented the coupon to the clerk, who was also one of the managers. She rang up the sale and told me my total was $12 and some change; this was for 3 movies and some candy so it sounded about right after the coupon was deducted. Well before I received my receipt, she told me that she forgot to deduct the coupon.

Then, she proceeded to tell me that she had to give me back the coupon or put a free rental on my account because she couldn't give me the cash back or redo the sale. She also told me that the coupon was expired but she planned on taking it anyway. The date on the coupon is 10/31/06. I told her that 10 is the month of October and today is April 1st. To make a long story shorter, she basically did nothing except give me my coupon back. So the Hollywood Video Manager overcharged me and nothing could be done about it; I find this very hard to believe. I plan on calling corporate on Monday.
