Failure to deliver wedding photos, $6,000 later. Ripoff

Max Shaboot is an LA Photographer who is systematically ripping-off his customers by accepting large sums of money for wedding photography and failing to deliver the photos per his signed contract.

Imagine if your son, daughter, brother, or sister paid dearly to have a professional photographer take pictures of the most important day of their lives and fail to deliver the photographs and completely ignore any and all attempts to establish contact. Essentially, the memories, the images, the lasting immpressions of THE day, are gone.

That's exactly what has happened to my wife and I and we are completely disheartened, realizing that we may never see our photos after over $6,000 in payments to Mr. Shaboot.

The process seemed to go smoothly. The photographer was originally referred by a family friend, seemed very professional with plenty of documentation and a formal contract. The wedding went-off without a hitch and Mr. Shaboot shot the event as expected. The photo proofs were published and we had selected all photos to be compiled into the album per our contract. Mr. Shaboot then asked for $1200 additional for lab printing, beyond our original $6,000 investment. We naively went ahead and paid. Six months later and over 25 voice mails, e-mails and a formal letter from an attorney, we have not heard a word. No photos, no album, not even a phone call. The man has completely dissappeared, yet his phone is working, his emails go through and his website continues to promote his services. He continues to operate his business and a pattern of deception is rapidly emerging. The next step is formal legal action and we will not stop until we get our photos and our negatives.

Mr. Shaboot could not have asked for a more easy-going, cooperative client. Unfortunately, this is a case where the nice-guy finished last.

We are aware of at least one other family who has had a similar experience with this photographer. We will be pursuing all legal remedies to stop this man from ripping-off other non-suspecting couples. We fear others will become victims and sincerely hope we can save others from a similar experience. We strongly advise potential customers to only hire wedding photographers with physical office locations that you can see with your own eyes.
