Ripoff was promissed $100 rebate to switch from ATandT

It's all very simple. I had my long distance phone service through AT&T and my local service through Verizon. Verizon contacted me and offered a very good deal to have my local and long distance plus my computer service through them. Part of the deal was a $100 credit for making the switch. A few months went by with no credit but I figured this was normal since they would want to make sure you stuck with the service for a while. Then another month passed so I decided to give them a call. The gentlemen that I spoke to said he was sorry and he would put in a request to have a check sent out to me within ten working days. Another month passed and after another call I was given the same promise about a check being cut and mailed out to me. It really wasn't a surprise when another month passed and still I hadn't recieved a check from Verizon. I made another call and was told that while they were sorry all they would do was put in a request and them have another department take it from there. Of course when I asked to speak with somebody from that department I was told that this wasn't permitted. Anyway, I don't want to make a huge deal about $100 but I feel like I was asked to switch my business after receiving a promise. Since this promise hasn't been met I wonder how many other folks this has happened to. Does Verizon make a practice out of getting business this way?
