Received phone call with caller ID blocked. Request made for checking account information

I received a telephone call tonight from a telemarketer with a heavy accent. I was allegedly the winner of a $500 shopping spree. Why am I so lucky? Why was caller ID blocked? I let them chatter on for 15 minutes and talked to their 'verifier'. When he asked for checking account number so they could take out 'only' $5.00. I made a very rude comment and hung up.

I regretted my rudeness and crudeness until I found this site and realized that my instincts were correct.

These scumsuckers are now working the East Coast.
