This is a harassment complaint against John Fox of Corporate Receivables located in Phoenix, Arizona.

The first time that I spoke to John Fox was on Wednesday, January 4. At first he seemed interested in trying to help me resolve my debt with HSBC. I asked him if I could make some payment arrangements. He told me no.

When I asked why his response was that he could't do it because there was someone else on my account. I explained to him that I was the responsible party because I made the credit card charges. He still refused.

I furnished him with the other parties address as per his request. I told him that I would contact the other party and have them call him. He said that if he didn't hear from the 2nd party by that Friday that he was going to file a motion on Monday stating that we both refused to comply with the debt. I said that was not true because I was the one who called him.

A couple of days later he called again stating that he had not heard from the 2nd party. He then proposed a settlement arrangement of $700.00 down and then he would consider payment arrangements. I stated that I was unemployed and couldn't come up with that kind of money. His response was that he would have to again file a refusal to pay motion. After him repeatedly threatening to file, I finally said well, "alright, because there isn't anything else that I can do".

That's when his whole attitude changed. His tone was very irate. He said "why don't you use your head"."We're willing to forgive $500.00 of your debt owed". Excuse me! I stated, why do you think I'm asking to have payment arrangements? With his nasty tone, he said why are you raising your voice. Raising my voice I was the one calm. He then hollered
if you can pay off Levitz, (another HSBC company) why can't you pay us. I couldn't get a word in so I hung up.

He called several more times this day. I didn't respond because I was the one that provided him with that information. I told him that I had paid off Levitz, and that now I wanted to settle with them.

The next time Fox called was on Monday, January 16. He spoke with my fiance. Fox then asked to speak with me. My fiance told him that I was asleep. He then asked him if he would like to leave a message. John Fox then exclaimed ASLEEP wake her up. What's the matter, it's 10.00am, you people don't know what a job is.

Excuse me, was my fiances reply "who do you think you're talking to? Fox then continued with his nasty remarks, not letting my fiance get a word in. So my fiance hung up the phone.

My fiance was very shaken by this call. He is a an elderly gentlemen. He didn't understand why companies would indulge in this kind of behavior. Aren't they supposed to be the professional ones. Not. This guy is very rude and nasty and is unwilling to help someone who is trying to pay their debt. To date it is Tuesday, January 17.
