Ripoff, fraudulent, rude customer service, dishonest

My horror story dealing with Columbia House began this morning when I discovered they had charged my bank account for a DVD that I never received. I never received any paperwork in the mail, or any emails asking me to accept or decline a DVD. They PRECHARGED my account w/o authorization and no DVD!

The phone number listed under the name of the company DOES NOT allow you to talk to a customer service rep! It will just take you through different "automated" recordings endlessly! So, I tried another number for new members; got no where. "They can't help members with these kind of complaints!"

I then found this website and the local number in Terre Haute for Columbia House. Of course, there was no actual choice for customer service... Go figure! I spoke to human resources first and that lady was just RUDE! She hung up on me in mid speech and transferred me to a "once again recorded voice message!"

I tried another option "for other concerns" and it led me to the security department! That makes a lot of sense! He was also extremely rude and hung up on me as well.

So let's hope that this DVD that "I never ordered" actually shows up this week. After this, I'm cancelling my contract and putting a block on Columbia House through my bank!
