I returned to the Lenscrafters store in October as my lenses were foggy and had severe cleaning scratches. I had cleaned my glasses with only Lenscrafters cleaner and cloths. Since my lenses were past the one year mark (1 year, 8 months) which was the warranty period for accidental breakage, Lenscrafters refused to replace the glasses or even provide a discount. The cost of just the replacement lenses was nearly equal to the cost of the original glasses including frames. I contacted the customer service folks via e-mail as instructed (no phone number is available) and I was told that if the cost was too much for me that I should buy cheaper lenses. That comment was not only ridiculous and off-point, but highly insulting. I have since learned that the company has had problems with their previous anti-glare coating that was on my lenses, and they have since changed that product. Obviously, there is a problem with the product. Unless I receive satisfaction from either Lenscrafters or their parent company this week, I'll be filing suit against them in small claims court. That's relatively easy to do and very inexpensive. I'm sure I'll prevail based on what my lawyer has told me.
