Long Lumber & Michael D. Long
(AKA) Would not pay wages and commission from Jan 1st thru May 13th of 2005

Starting in Oct. Of my pay checks started to take longer to receive or be paid in full. As the end of the year approached of the intervals were increasingly longer.

Mike Long of Long Lumber did pay me off finally for what he owed me in 2004. But as 2005 approached, I started to get paid about every three weeks. Each of those checks would only be $500.00.

I found out in May of that he was not paying others the same way. One worker got a $1,000.00 on one paycheck, another worker got $1,200.00. But the one that upset me the most, while I am getting only $500.00, was a young 18 year old kid, who got $1,700.00. I found out this info as these paycheck statements were left laying out instead of being put away.

Mike Long and his family are selling the property where we had the business. He told one of the workers a couple of months before I quit, that he was going to take his share of the sale and cash into twenty's and take it to Montana and put it in his safe where no one would find it.

I won my judgement against him and his company for $35,000.00. Now my attorney is trying to collect.

What is sad is, it just didn't seem important to him to pay his workers, and his attitude was just all wrong. He lived life big in Montana and still does, after buying a 53 Acres and a Restaurant that they turned into a house. Built a 3 car garage and two or three private cabins for guests on the property. They also built a big horse barn.

All of this the Longs did with money and material from the the company. They paid $450,000.00 for the house in Montana, and when they sold the house in Oregon they pocketed the $350.000.00 instead of putting it back into the company.

I liked Mike until this all happened and I loved my job, and I still miss it.
