Scam collect calls from Mexico, Ripoff

I received a bill from my local phone company for OAN Services billed on behalf of West Star Telecommunications for a collect call from Mexico.

I called OAN Services and was told they could block my phone from receiving collect calls from Mexico but I had to pay for the collect call. I told the female that answered the phone that I do not accept collect calls from anyone and I was at work at the time that the call supposidly went through and I wasn't going to pay it.

She kept telling me that I had to pay the bill but she could block my phone from further calls from Mexico. I told her to block my phone but to take the bill off and she refused. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she hung up on me.

She told me that my answering machine probably had picked up the call. So what? My answering machine doesn't accept collect calls and I know my dogs didn't accept it either.

I did speak with my local phone company and they said they would send it back to OAN but not to be surprised if I got another bill for the call.

There's got to be some way to stop these people from adding to our phone bills. I will never pay for calls that I don't make or accept!!!
