Dry Master
Water extraction restoration company

Shops, Products, Services

On Dec 19 we arrived in Florida to find out that a pipe leaked in our house and the carpet on the first floor was saturated with water. I went to the yellow pages and found a restoration company which the ad said extracted water. About 4 hours later Dry Master came, 2 men picked up the carpet padding and moved some of the furniture out of the 2 rooms that were damaged. They left a leather couch and armoir in place in the flood area.

They put out fans and contained the damage as best they could. They asked me what my deductible was which was $1,000 and they asked me for $1,000 for their work and a $1,000 for my deductible. I gave them my husband's American Express Card. They asked me if I would guarantee payment if the insurance company did not pay. I said I would that there would be no trouble with the insurance company. I never received a bill or a statement from Dry Master.

On December 21 Dry Master put over $12,000 on my credit card. They never even went over the charges. When my credit card statement came I called for an itemized bill. They told me since I guaranteed payment they put the charges through immediately. My insurance company estimates their charges at @ $7,000.

Their charges are in dispute with American Express as of today. They listed items on their bill they never did. The insurance company says their charges are much too high. This company lied and put charges on my credit card without my approval. They have to be stopped.
