Ripoff held moving boxes hostage lied

First off, I personally know two other individuals who also used this company and had nearly the exact same experience. We all moved simultaneously and all made the mistake of using this company. Big mistake.

As for my own story, East West Moving failed to deliver on every single time window given. At both pick-up and at delivery, they were late. Additionally, upon delivery, I was told that my items came in over their estimated weight limit and that in order for them to be unloaded, I'd have to pay them an additional $500 in cash. I told them that they were wrong at which point they offered to re-weigh it to prove their point. I accepted their offer at which point they notified me that BEFORE they could re-weigh it, I'd have to pay the $500 since they'd have to unload the truck to see the before and after weight. When I questioned this tactic, they said it was their only way of ensuring that I didn't have them unload the truck and then not pay them.

At this point, I basically went off on them (for probably the 6th time in a two week period - seriously) and threatened to contact my lawyer.instantaneously, upon hearing that word, they agreed to way any additional fees and unload the truck so long as I agreed not to contact a lawyer. Amazing!

Unfortunately, this report alone does not begin to cover all the conversations that occured in between delivery and pick-up and the continuous lies that this company stated. And if they tell you that they use their own guys to do all the moving, they're lying about that, too. The delivery crew had absolutely no direct employment connection to East West Moving Company.

At the beginning of the process, the salesman did a great job of selling me on the company. Of course once that was over with, everything went wrong and I was no longer allowed to speak to him.

Would be more than happy to speak of my two friend's stories with this company but it's not my place. Highly recommend you pay the extra few hundred dollars and use a more reputable service.
