Ripoff What a swindle! Please stay away from this scam!

I wish I would have known about this site three months ago!

My boyfriend and I contacted NJ Rentals after becoming frustrated with apartment hunting. Their website was very promising as it indicated that in addition to full access to their database, they would actually call and make appointments to see apartments for us! As any young professional knows, finding time to do anything nowadays is a challenge so we were thrilled at the prospect of this added bonus even if it meant paying a little more.

After registering and paying we were able to look through what appeared to be an outdated database (some listings were over a month old and rented already). We were assured by Dolores that they got in listings daily and to check back often.in the meantime, we picked out a list of over 50 apartments from their database. Out of those 50 apartments Dolores was only able to get in touch with four people. When I went through the list and made my own phone calls, I was surprised to find out that about one fifth of those numbers were wrong numbers and two thirds of the apartments were taken. The remainder of the numbers never called back.

My boyfriend would call Dolores daily and then eventually when he got frustrated with her lack of work we decided to e-mail a complaint. Don, the man who I believe is the owner, replied to the complaint and promised us new listings. Unfortunately the promise wasn't filled.

Eventually we gave up because after calling three times a day and showing up in person every Saturday we were getting absolutely no results. On the last Saturday we stopped by to speak with Dolores and Don we stopped by a local grocery store and picked up newspapers. We found our apartment the very next day.

Do not use NJ Rentals. They are a scam! They will swindle you out of your hard-earned $150. Dolores is great at lying to you. She and Don both openly lied to us about how they were going to try harder and get results.

I have contacted them regarding a refund but have yet to hear back. If they do not refund our registration fee I will report them to the Better Business Bureau as well as the New Jersey Real Estate Commission because this scam needs to end. Their real estate license (if they have one) needs to be removed, as they are thieves and are not a real estate office.

One last note, I could be wrong but on the first day we walked into that office I experienced deja vu when I saw Dolores (she's the kind of person you don't forget once you meet her). It turns out she worked in another real estate rentals joint in Kearny and my friend was swindled by them.
