I had my wife's silk suit cleaned with a number of other items and when she got ready to wear it, we noticed a very large and noticiceable spot on the pants. When I returned the garment unworn and in the same cleaning plastic, the cleaners associates admitted that some pressing oil may have gotten on it. I was somewhat dismayed and told them that I didn't see how a spot that large and visible could have been overlooked, and I wanted to know why wasn't it brought to my attention instead of being packaged and sent home to me that way. They didn't have an answer but offered to re-clean the garment at no charge.

After that, I ended up making three additional trips to the cleaners to pick up the same soiled garment, and each time they said it was ready, the stain was not completely out. They also kept promising to call me to let me know when the cleaning was done, but never did. Finally, they told me they would try some special treatment on the garment that did get the stain out but also made the garment a lighter shade. I was willing to live with that but when I picked the garment up the last time, I noticed that it had a long "run" in the fabric that had not been there before. Two of the counter employees admitted not seeing the run previously.in fact, the suit was relatively new and had only been cleaned once before.

The Manager examined the suit and determined that the "run" was due to the way the garment had been worn, and he had his seamstress look at it and her opinion was that the "run" was due to the faulty design of the suit. This was a $200 plus designer label garment that had only been worn twice before and only dry cleaned once before. This Manager also insisted that this "run", and the spot, had to have been in the fabric before (despite his associates not remembering it), and he attributed it to the prior cleaning. The pants of the suit still had a ticket from the first cleaners safety pinned to the inner label. I admitted that the suit had been cleaned once before, but I didn't see what that had to do with the spot or the "run", and his crew had already admitted that neither of the problems existed when the cleaning came in.

When I did not accept his decision, and he refused to accept responsibility for the garment, I told him I was not leaving until someone told me how could I file a claim for the damage. He then warned me to leave his premises, and when I insisted on knowing how to file a claim, he sarcastically said I could take him to small claims court. I angrily left the premises and I felt very dissatified and taken advantage of.
