Unsubscribed Immediately upon registering. Kept billing for two months. Did not refund

Immediately upon subscribing to ediets.com, I thought I would be charged $2.99 per month when I subscribed but after researching, I noticed it was per week and with all of the other add-ons my bill would come to $31.88 per month. Not a good value considering what you receive from ediets.com. Within an hour of subscribing, I unsubscribed. Over the next two months, I continued to receive a credit card debit for $31.88 taken out of my bank account.

When I called ediets.com to manually unsubscribe, I spoke with a very rude gentleman who would not give his name to me. I was told to unsubscribe, I would have to pay a $25.00 "termination fee" and I would be out the money I paid. I asked to speak with his supervisor and I was placed on hold for over 45 minutes. Then I was disconnected. This occurred on 25 February. When I called three more times, I had to wait another 30-45 minutes to speak with a supervisor, only to be disconnected before I spoke with anyone. "Gretchen" transferred me to a supervisor first and must have disconnected me after a 45 minute wait. This was the third attempt to get through. Finally, on the fourth attempt, I reached a supervisor.

The supervisor informed me that I would have to pay the $2.99 per week plus the $25.00 termination fee and they would refund me for the rest. All told, I will receive about $11.00 if they every decide to refund me the money. Furthermore, I do not trust ediets or this supervisor to not continue billing me.in fact, if I receive another debit from ediets.com, I will be forced to close my credit card to stop this illegal billing.

This is absolutely no way to do business. This company should be forced to refund every dissatisfied customer's money immediately or they should be forced to suffer the consequences of losing their business. If I handled my customers the way ediets.com handles theirs, I would be out of business.

This company is a scam and this needs to be addressed before more victims lose their hard earned money. For $31.88 per month, I could join Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig and use some of the money for the appropriate food for the diet. People need to be made aware of the deceitful way this company operates. They certainly do not hesitate to spend your money, just try to get it back when you want to cancel! Shame on ediets.com... Shame, shame, shame!
