Early 7/03 Contacted above to arrange shutters

Mid July met with Bobby Numa convinced me to have accordion shutters instead of panels, did some measuring and told me he would work out price.

Late July another man in a red BMW who said he was a partner of B N came round and again took measurements.

Early 8/03 B N called and quoted $5000.00 to fit all the accordion shutters

8/10/03 B N came to address took check for $1000.00 said he would do job starting 9/10/03

9/10/03 did not turn up was unable to contact by phone left several messages on several phones.

9/30/03 still no word went to UK till 10/14/03 upon return saw business card on door called and he stated he would be round at weekend to start, did not turn up.
Late 10 Early 11 turned up with another man began measuring again! Said he would come at the weekend and start the work later he called and stated would have to move spa and go through screens and that it would cost more.

Told him I did not wish to pay more and that we had a contract at $5000.00.

He told me to give him a few weeks and he would start job stated he had some of the shutters already made.
Again did not turn up I called and he stated he would give me my money back.

Waited several weeks and called, got various excuses ie; he was working in Jacksonville, Naples, Orlando etc, had just finished big job and was waiting for money, was mailing the money to me but never arrived. Mother died, Grandmother died (twice) Had been ripped off for thousands after a big job and couldn't pay me for a month.

Eventually I told him I was taking the matter to court he informed me that he did not care he would just go bankrupt.

He then called me on several occasions and said don't involve lawyers it was a waste of money he would come round to my house at a pre arranged time and give me my money, this happened on at least four occasions, when I waited in all day, of course on each occasion he never turned up. Which meant I had wasted a whole day each time.

I eventually realised that he was just messing me around and had no intention of paying me I left a message telling him I was going to court.

12/1/03 turned up at my house gave me a post dated check for 12/31/03 and promised me that the money would be in the account then, of course it was not, the check was returned not honoured yet again he was just messing me around and had no intention of paying me (when did he cancel payment) (is it an offence in US if you have no intention of paying)?

I then hired Joe Rizzo a lawyer who sent him a letter demanding payment of my deposit back. On several occasions he contacted Mr Rizzo stating he would come to his office and sort it out but of course yet again he did not turn up. I could not afford to retain lawyer for a court case so I went to small claims court on my own in August (of course he never turned up) and won a judgement against him for my deposit of $1000.00 plus costs. Again however I am no further forward as he does not seem bothered and I can't contact him.
Can you give me any suggestions as to how I can recover my monies.

At the very least print this as a warning to others not to use this man or his company.
