Defective products and rude customer service

I product which was defective and while exchanging emails with customer service the customer service rep yelled at me by writing in all caps when telling me I had to contact the manufacturer. I was shocked because I asked the rep to explain the return policy and the rep started their email out with..."as I stated before..." then the rep wrote "YOU need to contact the manufacturer" I have never dealt with such rudeness from where I made a purchase. Buyer beware!
